January 24, 2025 For Immediate Release Reid Hettich Announces Campaign for Ward 1 City Council in Aurora, Endorsed by Commissioner and Former State Senator Rhonda Fields ​Aurora, CO – Reid Hettich, a dedicated community leader with over 20 years of experience living and working in Aurora’s Ward 1, has officially announced his candidacy for Ward 1 City Council. Known as the historical "heart and soul" of Aurora, Ward 1 faces significant challenges, including boarded-up buildings, substandard housing conditions, and a reputation for crime along Colfax Avenue. ​ "Now is the time to reimagine Northwest Aurora," said Hettich. "Ward 1 holds the roots of our city, and together, we can transform it into a thriving, vibrant community. The challenges we face today are opportunities for positive, lasting change." Hettich’s campaign is bolstered by the endorsement of Commissioner and former State Senator Rhonda Fields, a respected leader in Aurora and beyond.
